Welcome To Paradise Honors Elementary School
I am looking forward to being your child's teacher this year! We are going to work together and have new exciting learning adventures. This is my seventh year here are Paradise. I graduated ASU with my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (K-3). I obtained my Master's from GCU in Curriculum and Development in Reading. I love taking classes and learning new things! I am married and have a daughter at PHHS. I am also an avid reader of mystery books and enjoy playing with dogs. I have my own big dog that is a Black Lab mixed with a Newfoundland.
This is a big year for your child and we will be learning a lot of new material. We will be doing chapter studies, reading informational text and citing evidence, as well as practicing our fluency. In math, our big focus will be getting those multiplication facts memorized and moving into division. We will have spelling and start to teach cursive handwriting. In social studies, we will be learning about communities, map creation and map reading skills. We will also be studying American and World History. In science, we will be doing experiments using the scientific method. We will also be learning about plants, rocks and life cycles. We have a fun packed year!!!
I am looking forward to meeting each child and learning their strengths. I believe the teacher and the parent working together help develop the whole child. I not only work on academics but the well being of your child. We have character lessons that help develop ethical values. The counselor also works closely with each character trait and presents lessons throughout the year.
Please feel free to contact me with anything you need. The best contact method is through email. However, if it is after 4pm I may not see your email until the following morning. The phone does not ring in our classroom during the day, so you will have to leave a message.
